I teach French online in one to one and small group sessions with a focus on making lessons enjoyable and motivating for everyone.
Bonjour! I’m Sophie, a native French teacher based in Epsom, United Kingdom, fluent in 4 languages (French, English, German and modern Greek). I hold the highest-level teacher qualification of French for secondary schools in France and a qualification in French as a foreign language.
As a tutor I share my knowledge and enthusiasm with children who want to start learning French, improve their French, get help with school or exams or just have fun learning a new useful and enjoyable skill. I am experienced in helping native/bilingual children, often living abroad, improve their French. I also offer conversation classes for adults.

I teach French online (via Zoom or Skype) in one to one or small group sessions. My aim is to deliver fun, structured, tailored and motivating lessons so children and adults can make progress, reach their goal and enjoy the process. With a supportive and experimented teacher, you'll be amazed by the results you get !

QUALIFICATIONS
I hold the highest-level teacher qualification of French for secondary schools (‘Agrégation de lettres modernes’), a MA in French literature and qualifications in French as a foreign language : Licence mention FLE (Bachelor), 2004 and FLE aux enfants sans contact by Adélaïde Tilly, 2022 (how to teach children online).
EXPERIENCE
Since 2008 I’ve been teaching French and Latin in secondary schools in France and French as a foreign language in primary and secondary schools in Germany, Athens and London. I've been a member of the examination commission for DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes de Langue Française, French language degree) in Rostock, Germany. I'm also experienced in teaching French bilingual children living abroad.
I know from experience how challenging it can be to learn a new language (still taking Greek lessons myself!) but also how rewarding and enjoyable, and this insight helps me greatly in teaching others.
