Here are activities about Christmas trees: 'artificiel ou naturel'? With a debate and a video to find out which one is more environmentally friendly.

The activities are aimed at teens or adults at A1 or A2+ level (simplified or longer text, questions with more or less guidance).

Objectives:

  • learn vocabulary related to the Christmas tree

  • use the comparison plus/moins que

  • use on peut/on doit

  • express and justify one's opinion

We start by talking about what we have at home and by reading sentences about each type of Christmas tree (choose the activity that best suits your learners' level):

Next, learners are asked which Christmas tree they think is the most environmentally friendly. They make hypotheses and justify their opinion. They can debate between them.

Then we watch the Radio Canada Info video.

Choose the slides that are most suitable for your learners, I made different versions, to work on comparison or not.

Finally, we can add the wooden or creative tree (again, the text has a beginner version and a more advanced one) and ask our learners which of the three they prefer and why.

I hope this will be useful!
